Barely has the water from the recent flood subsided in Johor, and down comes another round of heavy rain. Never has there been such a terrible flood in Malaysia... 14ft high!!!
Our beloved Samy Vellu would comment: "It's an Act of God!", while I think: "It's the Act of Human Beings!!". Malaysia IS flood prone, but never has it been this bad. Have you ever asked yourselves why all of a sudden the flood's this horrendous?? think a while...
Could it be that, idiotic people go around throwing rubbish in 'longkangs', monsoon drains, rivers etc. that when rain (a real heavy one) comes, all 'longkangs' are blocked with rubbish that there's no way of draining out the water. So where does the water go? You go figure!
Drains are for DRAINING... NOT FOR RUBBISH!
Please don't get me wrong. I think it seems to people reading this that i've no sympathy towards the victims of this flood in Johor. I do, really! But if the cause of this flood is the drainage system, then I've no sympathy towards those who don't give a fish towards the environment.

Great comments and i agree with you especially in the fact that flood is cost by mankind. Since we already know the reasons behind this unfortunate flooding scandal, how can we actually solve it? The interesting part is how many of us actually take the initiative to overcome this crisis and traumatic attitude? Why the flood in our country is deterioting from decades to decades? Why Kelantan and Terengganu have this "annual flooding festival" at the end of each and every year? Of course now the whole peninsular Malaysia is getting near to recieving this wonderful gift from the god as well. Is it really a free "Shower Gift" by the nature?I do wonder how come most of people in our country do behave in such a manner. Is it because the influences of our cultures that we were brought up with? Is it because the lacking of moral values being cultivated by the parents as well our so called "Formal Education" system that totally pays less emphasize on hygiene on public services and facilities? Is it because our drainage systems look like a dustbin that everyone misunderstood until they fully utilize the "Dustbin"? Is it because everyone doesnt' have the duty to the nation when they step out from their balcony and backyard of their house? Why people is acting in such individualistic manners and why everyone keeps on pointing their fingers to others and never realize themselves that the culprits are actually themselves. HAiz...Pathetic, what to do, we can only do our parts and protect the environment and try persuade the siblings or anyone around us to cultivate the same attitude but... Will it work? If yes, how long? As we know the persistent, consistency and determination are never in the context of Malaysian values. How much difference can we make if this perception of drain is equal to dustbin hasn't been uninstalled in the mentality of mankind? Guess you know my points now that no matter what happens, there's always a solution, like what you said, is not blaming others such as God but ourselves(Human beings). If everyone realizes about this, the nature is safe, the fish is safe and we are safe as well.Peace#
