PETA Protests!!!

A picture at the front page of 'The Sun' newspaper struck me yesterday. It did not get a big headline... it was merely a little 'by-the-way' news to fill up space.

This picture showed a lady, who's a member of the 'People for Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA), protesting in the middle of a catwalk in HongKong, holding an Anti-Fur poster, while a security personnel tries to push her off the catwalk, in order for those models to continue parading Hong Kong designer Andy Sin's (Fur) creations.

Why do people need fur in their lives??? I can never understand.

For those of you who have a fetish for fur, please check out www.peta.org. It's a really cool site!

In this site, you'd be able to see how these cute furry animals are made into your beloved furcoat. A step-by-step guide which will make you cringe and eventually send your food back to where it came!

While watching the videos, please try to place yourselves in the animal's shoes.

I hope the videos will OPEN your eyes and stop you from spending thousands on just a fur coat. Why not save that $$ on something more worthwhile.. like travelling, buying a new Rolls Royce or your latest Gucci bag or something.

If you really love fur that much, you could try looking for your furcoats in Petaling Street. As if people will be able to tell the difference between real fur and fake from far anyway.

Please, have a heart :)

Does anyone know that behind the making of glamorous fur coats lies the reality of animal pain, suffering, and death? Does anyone pay attention how the animals are being slaughtered just to get their fur? Can you imagine how we, the humans feel if the animals switching position with us and tear all our skins and hairs and wear them? Every single year, millions or maybe billions of animals around the globe are killed in traps, wire snares, or on factory fur farms. The purpose is just as simple as to satisfy the people who feel a class above of the middle class for wearing fur.
Human beings are just perhaps the smartest living creatures in this world and they are not created just to kill or manipulating other living creatures lives just for their own pleasure or luxury. Instead of wasting the luxury and time trying to auction for the most bargaining fur coats, they should instead thinking of ways of utilizing their precious time and efforts for the society or to mankind or Mother Nature. This is a democratic society and this means every single living creature should have the equal rights to sustain and live the ways they want as long as it doesn’t breach other people privacy or safety. If everyone keeps on pointing out that we are democratic and that we should have human rights and freedom, why can’t I see this acts are being applicable to the animals? Just because they do not speak in a language or bark in a sense that we humans can understand, that doesn’t make them not eligible to keep their own furs and live the way they like.
Please check out this website http://www.angelfire.com/ny4/roar/Page7.html if you still think fur is a must for luxury!
Don’t make me feel gutted to think that fur can change the status quo of a person…
SAY STOP TO THE FUR INDUSTRY!
